The twentieth century was revolutionary in a multiplicity of fields – and psychology and education was no exception. The attempt to develop the understanding on how humans learn was a challenge upheld by a “huge and diverse cast of characters” (Harré, 2006: p7), Jerome Bruner and B.F. Skinner being my focus. For this essay, I will specifically describe and compare B.F. Skinners’ theory on Operant Conditioning to J. Bruners’ theory on cognitive learning whilst also applying them to a classroom setting.
Jerome Bruner (is one of the most prolific and significant writer-directors of the twentieth century and changed the theatre in political and technical ways.
