slam in Mali starts when it’s king first converted to it. In Mali there was once a drought which came to an end thanks to offering muslim prayers. Mali’s first leader, Sundiata (though a weak muslim) helped spread Islam through Mali. Mali’s second leader Mansa Musa was believed to be a devoted muslim and really helped spread Islam along his kingdom. Mansa Musa once went to Hajj and came back with muslim scholars and architects. These were the people that built 5 mosques in that kingdom or area. It was also in his ruling time period that Ibn Battuta came to West Africa. Also thanks to Mansa Musa’s pilgrimage he attracted many muslim scholars and traders that boosted Mali’s cultural and economic environment.
