The primary research method is a company’s personal data collection. Through means such as observations, experiments, surveys, focus groups and field trials. (Tutor2U, n. d). the type of research method used usually depends on a company’s aim which varies. It could be the introduction of new products in the market, or even customers feedback. An advantage of this type of market research is that despite being expensive, it is often accurate like observing or experimenting. For instance, Nando’s carried out a research in Shanghai restaurants to find out more on how to satisfy the Chinese eating habits. This research involved a survey of 15 questions with multiple answers to questions such as customers reactions and opinions to the food to obtain more accurate results and eventually distributed a variety of the peri sauce for trial by the Shanghai restaurants staff for their feedback (the Nando’s strategy, 2014).
